Position Summary/ Objective
The Development Coordinator supports the Development Division in raising donations from major donors. This position supports two west-coast major gift fundraisers and prepares high-quality presentations, donor reports, and materials for external audiences at the highest level of philanthropic potential. This position will manage west coast fundraising and cultivation events, and will assist major gift officers with database entry, visit preparation, donor stewardship, and expense reimbursements.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage Major gift and mid-level events and Council meetings including, but not limited to, developing collateral pieces, researching event venues, developing event invite lists, monitoring coding and RSVPs, ensuring program content is adequate, create guest list and name tags and work with venue on audio visual needs and menu and following up with attendees and invitees, and implement post-event follow-up.
Work with local Board and National Council members as needed on events and other opportunities.
Develop high-quality presentations, proposals and reports to donors.
Enter and update donor details and data in IFAW’s fundraising database.
Engage with program staff and analyze project plans and to ensure accurate and persuasive stewardship reports and proposals.
Maintain donor information and interactions in the supporter database for major gift officers.
Develop written correspondence for major, mid-level and institutional funders.
Complete travel expense reimbursements for major gift officers.
Steward mid-level donors in California
3-5 years’ experience in a fundraising, marketing, or event planning position.
A degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
Social media acumen preferred.
Experience with fundraising or sales database software helpful.
Knowledge of Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook desired.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment within an international matrix organization.
Highly detail oriented and self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
