The Marketing & Recruitment Specialist Coordinates all Marketing and Digital Communications for the Fung Institute to promote awareness of our mission and of our MEng programs within the campus community and to the general public.
Ã¯ Coordinates with Fung Institute leadership to understand constituencies, establish marketing strategy, and create a targeted communications plan. Ã¯ Collaborates with stakeholders (students, faculty, alumni, and staff) on creating marketing content for distribution via the various channels. Content may include people/project profiles, advertising campaigns, program brochures, newsletters, and blogs. Ã¯ Manages the branding, design, and technical updates to Fung Institute websites. Develops website content and architecture to reflect overall communications goals and strategy. Ensures all data is current and solicits new content on a regular basis. Ã¯ Maintains Fung social media channels via branding, content, and technical support. Ã¯ Develops and enforces Fung Institute brand guidelines across all digital and print materials. Manages design and production of branded digital communications materials including logos, and other identity elements. Ã¯ Researches, analyzes, monitors and evaluates marketing efforts for the Fung Institute to measure effectiveness and reports results to the Director of Academic Affairs. Develops a set of marketing metrics to measure and track success of various initiatives and online efforts. Ã¯ Oversees video and photography needs, including hiring photographers and taking photos as needed. Manages image inventory. Ã¯ Maintains and upgrades digital communications tools and online accounts including CRM database, video hosting, event registration, online forms, and other web-based accounts. Manages tool integration and troubleshooting as needed. Ã¯ Coordinates with vendors to design and produce marketing materials including signage, banners, pens, bags, giveaways. Establishes and maintains contacts with internal and external marketing professionals and vendors. Ã¯ A percentage of above responsibilities may be accomplished through direction and supervision of one of more student workers. Ã¯ Attends major Fung events to provide support as it relates to the duties outlined above.
25% Admissions and Recruitment:
Ã¯ Works with Fung Institute staff on developing and implementing student recruitment strategies for programs. Ã¯ Manages the Admissions Ambassador Program, which trains and schedules alumni and student volunteers to conduct admissions interviews and participate in recruitment events. Ã¯ Presents on behalf of the Fung Institute at information sessions (campus and online), graduate fairs, and other local and international recruitment events. Limited travel may be required. Ã¯ Fields e-mails, calls, and visits from prospective applicants.Ã¯ Thorough knowledge of application and use of statistics and research practices in developing marketing strategies. Ã¯ Thorough knowledge of digital marketing and advertising mediums and best practices. Ã¯ Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. Ã¯ Thorough, strong project management skills. Ã¯ Strong skills in event and media activities management. Ã¯ Skill in mentoring less experienced staff. Ã¯ Thorough knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and procedures of building and maintaining effective relations with internal and external constituencies. Ã¯ Thorough written, verbal and interpersonal communications, tact and political acumen to effectively represent the campus. Ã¯ Thorough research, analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills and skill to correctly identifying real and potential problems, advising management as required, and proposing effective strategic resolutions. Ã¯ Ability to work as part of a team by keeping others informed, working collaboratively on projects and ideas, as well as pitching in to assist coworkers as needed. Ã¯ Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
