Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Intercollegiate Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for keeping statistical records, promoting, publicizing and celebrating Caltech scholar-athletes' and coaches' endeavors and accomplishments, creating and implementing an appropriate public presentation of our department to the internal, local, national and international communities, serving as an outstanding liaison, role model and communicator for the value of intercollegiate athletics and this department.
- Collects, verifies, records and reports all official game and individual statistics, results and records to SCIAC and NCAA - Organizes and maintains archives of Caltech athletics - Publicize and celebrate the achievements of Caltech scholar-athletes, coaches and program through game summaries, feature articles, season preview and summary in a variety of print, electronic and video formats - Lead contact with all media outlets; work closely with Institute Marketing and Communications staff - Responsible to create and execute an appropriate social media strategy to promote Caltech athletics and the activities of the entire department - Steward of the department website, twitter, and other appropriate media - Responsible to produce excellent photography and videography of scholar-athletes/teams for use in variety of settings/publications/vehicles, including game action photos, headshots and team photos - Responsible for many aspects of home game management for all sports, including: a) obtain scorers, timers, statisticians and PA announcer as necessary; b) coordinate live stat and video streaming program in an equitable and high quality manner - Primary promoter of Caltech intercollegiate athletics through various programs and activities including but not limited to: a)production of game day programs; b) coordination of spectator programs and; c) create and distribute schedule cards and posters widely on campus - Assist the Assistant Athletic Director in organizing and executing the annual Athletic Celebration - Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing Sports Admin or related field required - 1-3 years full-time previous experience - Working knowledge of computer and statistical programs, such as Stat Crew, Front Rush, PrestoSports, StretchInternet, Microsoft, Adobe Suite - Current COSIDA membership - Strong writing, organizational, administrative and communication skills - Social Media & networking skills - Working knowledge of SCIAC & NCAA rules and regulations - Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and community members -Ability to lift up to 20 lbs of hand held camcorder and speakers, lap top and other AV equipment
